Taekwondo’s Lee Dong-gun and Kim Garam win side-by-side gold at World Youth Championships

(Sadang Middle School) and Kim Garam (Seongju Girls’ Middle School) topped the podium at the World Taekwondo (WTF) 스포츠토토 Sarajevo 2023 World Youth Championships.

Lee won the men’s 39-53 kg final with a 2-0 (12-0 13-1) victory over Nurferzent Samatuli (Kazakhstan) on day two of the tournament at the Hills Hotel Arena in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Monday (Sept. 29).

Lee, who narrowly missed out on gold in the final of the previous edition of the tournament, showed a more mature performance on the day.

“I wasn’t nervous this time around, so I think I was able to showcase the skills I’ve been preparing for,” Lee said after his victory, adding, 토토 “I will work hard to win gold at the 2028 LA Olympics.”

In the women’s 37-51 kg, Kim won her second gold medal of the Games after defeating Khosar Ozaghroh (IRA) 2-1 (18-5 10-11 15-11) in the final.

“I was very nervous because my final opponent was from Iran, but I thought I should stay calm and play my game,” said Kim. “I will continue to work hard and become a big player in the future.

(Sadang) in the men’s 37-51 kg category and Lee Ha-neul (Zhonghua) in the women’s 39-53 kg category added bronze medals.

South Korea now has one gold and two bronze medals on the men’s side and two gold and two bronze medals on the women’s side after the second day of competition.

Meanwhile, this year’s tournament also saw the introduction of BMI (body mass index), which is a combination of height and weight, 스포츠토토링크 to the weight classification system.
