The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has referred footballer Hwang Ui-jo to the prosecution for further investigation and potential indictment on charges of illegally filming his sexual encounter with a woman, officials said Thursday. The forward from the Turkish professional football club Alanyaspor has been accused of filming the woman during their sexual intercourse and inflicting secondary damage on her by publicly disclosing her personal details that could lead to her identity being revealed.

Officials said the police agency recently referred Hwang to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office without physical detention, along with his lawyer, surnamed Kim, who was accused of distributing a press release containing the victim’s personal information. The case involving Hwang emerged in June last year when he filed a complaint against a person, who claimed to be his former girlfriend, for sharing intimate photos of the footballer with women on Instagram and blackmailing him.In a following investigation, police identified the photo sharer as the wife of Hwang’s older brother, and also booked Hwang for investigation on charges of illegally filming his sexual encounter with a victim. In a statement issued later in November, Hwang insisted the video was made with her consent and revealed personal information about her, including that she is a celebrity who makes television 슬롯게이밍 appearances and is currently married.Hwang’s sister-in-law is currently standing trial on charges of blackmailing him and sharing his private videos.
