On Nov. 13, LG Twins fans were undoubtedly the owners of Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
LG defeated the KT Wiz 6-2 in Game 5 of the KBO 2023 Korean Series (KS) at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Nov. 13, completing its first combined title (regular season-KS title) in 29 years.
Even an hour after the game ended, Jamsil Baseball Stadium was filled with LG fans wearing ‘glossy jumpers’ and waving ‘yellow towels’.
LG had won the title in 1990 and 1994, but the winning ceremonies were held in Incheon in 1990 and Daegu in 1994.
This time, for the first time, it was at home, at Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
After clinching the title, the LG players lined up in front of the first base dugout and gave a big bow to the fans.
Although LG is a popular team representing the KBO, it was a ceremony full of apologies and gratitude for not winning a championship trophy for 28 years from 1995 to 2022.

When LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, the owner of the team, gave the championship report, saying in a loud voice, “Fans of the world’s best and invincible LG Twins, the LG Twins have finally won the championship after 29 years,” the fans cheered for “Koo Kwang-mo”.
LG manager Yoon Kyung-yeop said, “We are just getting started. We will challenge for the championship again next year,” and the crowd heated up even more.
Captain Oh Ji-hwan, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Korean Series, expressed his camaraderie by saying, “The people in this room won the championship for the first time in 29 years, and we want to win it again with this group,” and the LG fans let out their 29 years of pent-up frustration in a “victory chant.
After the official awards ceremony, a champagne shower and dance routine followed.
