Anderson ends nightmare five-game losing streak against Changwon that began with his predecessor’s 14 runs

Drew Anderson of the SSG Landers played a revolutionary role in shaking off the Changwon jinx. He showed his crisis management skills with his fastball and led the team to escape the jinx.

Anderson started the game against the NC Dinos at NC Park in Changwon on March 13 and pitched 5⅔ innings, allowing one run on five hits with four walks and one strikeout while striking out eight to lead the team to a 2-0 victory. Anderson picked up his ninth win of the season.

It was a rough start for Anderson. He gave up a leadoff walk to Min-woo Park and a single to Ho-cheol Seo in the first inning. He struck out Park Min-woo, but gave up another single to left to Seo Ho-chul. It was a hard hit, but Heredia’s throw home from left fielder Kim Hyung-joon, who was at second, was accurate. The second inning was scoreless.

After giving up a leadoff single to Davidson in the third, he retired the next eight batters until the bottom of the fifth, when he ran into trouble again.
