SK continues its winning streak.
The Seoul SK Knights won 78-75 against the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus of the 2023-2024 Korean Basketball Organization at 스포츠토토 Dongcheon Gymnasium in Ulsan on Sunday.
Head coach Jeon Hee-chul said, “I called the second timeout in the fourth quarter and talked to the players about our defense. In fact, Warney wasn’t very active on defense today, and I was upset about that. Hyundai Mobis made the key three-point shot of the game. We did a good job in the first quarter, but we didn’t do a good job of stopping Aluma’s offense. They switched at the end and kept giving us points, making it difficult for us. It’s good to win, but it’s also frustrating. I think we should have changed our defense when Aluma was there and blocked her better, but I’m glad we won,” he said.
The former coach continued, “Still, the players did a good job defensively, and in the fourth-quarter shootout, they were focused and chased down and took away the atmosphere. Regarding his recent inconsistent performance and the adaptability of Oh Se-geun, Jeon said, “We’ve been making some changes in the composition of the team lately, so it’s probably difficult for the players. I don’t think the players who are playing well forget about it, even though they are not as good as last year’s playoffs. It can be said that they are relatively sluggish compared to last year, but they seem to be integrating well.”
Asian quarterback Gomez Del Riano made his comeback, but only for about five minutes.
