BASEBALL HANWHA RELEASES 11 PLAYERS, INCLUDING KIM JAE-YOUNG AND NOH SOO KWANG LEE SUNG-GON RETIRES

Baseball’s Hanwha Eagles have released 11 players to reorganize the team. Hanwha announced on Thursday that it has notified pitchers Kim Jae-young (30), Park Yoon-chul (27), Ryu Hee-woon (28), Ryu Won-seok (34) and Song Yoon-joon (31), infielder Lee Sung-gon (31), outfielders Noh Su-kwang (33), Yoo Sang-bin (23) and Jang Un-ho (29), and developmental players Lee Jun-ki (21) and Shin Hyun-soo (20) that they will not be re-signed.

Sidearm Kim Jae-young, once eyed as a starter, was dropped after struggling this season, giving up nine runs in eight innings in six games. Noh Soo-kwang, who served as Hanwha’s captain for the first half of the 2021 season, was also released. He batted .221 with 17 hits in 77 at-bats in 30 games this year.
