7TH-RANKED LOTTE SWEEPS 6TH-RANKED KIA TO CLOSE 1.5 GAMES; WILKERSON PITCHES AGAIN

The Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) swept the KIA Tigers behind the back of Aaron Wilkerson, who extended his scoreless streak to two games. Lotte won 7-1 at home against KIA in the Shin han Bank SOL KBO Baseball League 2023 at Sajik Stadium in Busan on Nov. 11.Seventh-place Lotte moved to within 1.5 games of sixth-place Kia. Lotte took the lead in the bottom of the first inning on Ahn Chi-hong’s solo home run to left field. The long ball came after a 10-pitch battle with starter Thomas Pannoni .In the second inning, Jung-hoon followed with a solo shot to left off Pannoni. Lotte’s offense continued. In the bottom of the fifth inning with a 2-0 lead, leadoff hitter Son Sung-bin singled to left and scored on Ahn Chi-hong’s single to left-center .Son stole home as Kia center fielder Socrates Brito dropped the ball .LOTTE also scored in the bottom of the sixth inning with Panoni down. Jeong Hoon led off with 스포츠토토링크 a walk and stole second, and Kim Min-seok followed with a single to left to make it 4-0.In the next at-bat, Noh Jin-hyuk drew a walk and Son Sung-bin singled up the middle to extend the lead .Lotte gave up a run in the top of the seventh inning when Wilkerson was relieved to make it 5-1, but in the bottom of the inning, they scored two more runs on a sacrifice fly by Noh Jin-hyuk and an RBI single by Son Sung-bin to secure the win. Wilkerson, who led the team’s no-hitter with seven scoreless innings against the SSG Landers on June 6, continued his dominance in his return to the mound after four days of rest with six innings of six-hit ball, striking out five and walking none. Supporting Wilkerson at the plate, catcher Sung-bin Son went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored.
