The Korea Professional Footballers’ Association announced on Dec. 2 that it will host a charity match on Dec. 21 featuring former and current K League players to help Yoo Yeon-soo and Shin Young-rok, whose careers ended in unfortunate accidents.

Shin Young-rok suffered a heart attack during a K League match in 2011 and was forced to retire from the game after recovering from the attack.
The goalkeeper was paralyzed in October 2022 when he and his Jeju United teammates were involved in a car accident with a drunk driver while traveling by car.
Shin Young-rok and Yoo Yeon-soo were applauded by fans before the start of the first match of the 2024 Coupang Play Series between Team K League and Tottenham Hotspur (England) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on March 31.
