‘IOC Athletes’ Commission Challenge’ Park In-bee enters Paris, “Goes straight into election campaign”

Inbee Park, who is challenging for the IOC Athletes’ Commission, arrived in Paris, France on the 22nd (local time).

‘Golf queen’ Inbee Park (36, KB Financial Group), who is running for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission, has entered the ‘battleground’ of Paris and is starting full-scale election campaigning.

Inbee Park entered France through Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on the morning of the 23rd (Korean time). Her husband, swing coach Nam Ki-hyeop, also joined her.

Inbee Park, who met with News 1 immediately after entering the country, said, “When I arrived at the Paris airport and saw athletes and officials from various countries, I could really feel the Olympic atmosphere,” and “I think it will feel even more real when I go to the athletes’ village tomorrow.”

Inbee Park, the gold medalist in women’s golf at the 2016 Rio Olympics, is challenging for the IOC Athletes’ Commission at this Olympics. The IOC Athletes’ Commission election will be held at polling stations set up throughout the athletes’ village and stadiums, with over 10,000 Olympians casting their votes.

Out of a total of 32 candidates, only four will be eligible for an eight-year term as an Athletes’ Commission member, making Inbee Park the third Korean athlete to achieve this feat, following Dae-sung Moon (taekwondo) and Seung-min Ryu (table tennis), and the first Korean female athlete. The final results will be announced on August 7 at the Main Press Center (MPC) located at Palais des Congrès in Paris, France.

Inbee Park will quickly adjust to the time difference and begin campaigning the day after her arrival.

She said, “I plan to go straight to the athletes’ village and figure out the movement routes of the athletes,” and “I will start campaigning as soon as I arrive.” Since she is planning to give birth to her second child this year, she cannot help but be concerned about her physical strength. She is thinking of moving as efficiently as possible. Park In-bee said, “I will inevitably feel physical strain because I am pregnant,” but added, “I will do my best to achieve good results through the most efficient election activities.” With the opening of the Olympics just four days away, she also sent a message of support to the Korean team. Park In-bee said, “I hope that you will be in the best condition and show your best skills as you have worked hard to get to the Olympic stage,” and added, “The Olympics is a festival for sportspeople around the world, so I hope you can enjoy the atmosphere as well.” 파워볼사이트
