The KB Baduk League, now in its 20th season, has reached its halfway point in the heat and begins the second half of the league this week.

Wonik, led by 9th dan Park Jeong-hwan, won 3-1 in the 7th round match against Korea Price Information held at the Hankook Kiwon Baduk TV Studio in Majang-ro, Seongdong-gu on the 10th.
Wonik, which finished the first half undefeated, secured 19 points, comfortably beating second place Ulsan Korea Zinc (13 points) and racing to first place.
The Wonik is the first team to achieve undefeated in the first half of the KB Baduk League since Jeongkwanjang Hwang Jindan (currently Jeonggwanjang Cheonnok) in the 2017 season.
Wonik, aiming to advance directly to the championship, will face 5th place Kixx (9 points), led by 9th dan Shin Jin-seo, on the 15th in the 8th round, the first match of the second half.
2nd place Korea Zinc will face 6th place Baduk Mecca Uijeongbu (8 points) on the 16th.
Uijeongbu suffered 5 consecutive losses in the beginning, but has lifted the team spirit by winning 2 consecutive wins in the 6th and 7th rounds.
